Originally designed as the European equivalent to the original Ford Mustang, the Ford Capri launched in 1969 and quickly enjoyed huge success. After nearly a 40-year hiatus, Ford revived the Capri - the car you've always promised yourself returned in 2024.
The new model, designed as a crossover Coupe SUV, shares the MEB electric platform with the boxier Ford Explorer and several Volkswagen Group models, including the Volkswagen ID.5, Skoda Enyaq, and Audi Q4 Sportback. It is based on the electric Ford Explorer and features a sleek design comparable to the Polestar 2.
Upon its UK launch, two 'Extended-range' models will be available, in either Select or Premium trims. The entry-level version features a 286bhp single-motor rear-wheel drive with a 77kWh battery, offering up to 389 miles of range and capable of 0-62mph in 6 seconds. The Premium variant comes with AWD, delivering up to 340bhp and a 346-mile range.
